Nepal had been on my long list of places I’d wanted to visit for a very long time, so when my friend Dan mentioned that he’d also wanted to visit, the dream quickly became a reality!

Initially flying into Kathmandu, we quickly left the city confines and headed out on a 9 day trek into the Annapurna region, in the foothills of the Himalayas.

Before making the journey, I was intrigued to find out how people could live so remotely, but had clearly been able to survive sufficiently well for hundreds of years.

Trekking through endless beautiful landscapes, I often found myself roving off the beaten path in order to try my best at communicating with the local people, and quickly found that their lives revolved around working and cultivating their immediate land around them. Basically living to work to survive.

Ialso found that the Nepali people were an extremely hard working, gracious and welcoming race, it was as much of an honour visiting and soaking in their culture as I’d wanted it to be. Indeed, a dream realised.
