“I met the music producer Reau-Beau, who introduced me to a new track titled “4TPPL.” The track carries a simple yet powerful message: “This is for the people.” This resonated deeply with me, especially in light of the ongoing situation in the UK. The film aims to make a statement and celebrate the thousands of people who stood up against far-right violence by taking to the streets in opposition.”
On a technical note, the Fake is Real wanted to explore the latest advancements in AI video technology, which have been rapidly improving. Despite these advances, he noticed that much of the content generated with AI lacks soul and often feels gimmicky. Hisgoal was to create something impactful, something that could evoke real emotions.
To achieve this, Fake is Real used AI to generate portraits of people from diverse backgrounds, reflecting the rich diversity of the UK. They envisioned these individuals in environments resembling English cities and incorporated the names of cities where these events occurred into the prompts used to generate the images. After creating numerous images and portraits, they employed the new Runway Gen-3 to animate and bring these photos to life.
He is genuinely excited about these new tools, their potential for storytelling, the ability to rapidly generate content that connects to real events, addresses pressing issues, and celebrates significant moments. The film is 99% made with AI, with only one closeup shot of his mouth (recorded with an iPhone) that he found worked better. The film was created in just three days.
