Auwtch refers to the fine line between pain and infatuation, an expression of heartache and the feeling of love. The song was written the day Justine fell in love just before the pandemic, but as is often the case, love doesn’t last forever… Auwtch is a song for the romantics.
The filming happened at double speed because the result shows Tsar B singing the song’s lyrics perfectly in slow-motion.
“When filming the video, I had to lip sync twice as fast as the original song. My friend recently told me that I live twice as fast as normal people. We concluded that’s why shooting this video went so well: my brain is trapped in a universe where everything goes twice as fast.”

The installation of the horse is a work by the Antwerp puppet theater company FroeFroe with whom Tsar B has previously collaborated. To create the effect of a galloping horse, this puppet set had to be carried by three people.
