This spring, ILA Foundation, FOMU, and Het Bos came together for the third edition of Beyond The Frame, a collaborative project dedicated to supporting emerging visual artists in their professional development.

Since its start in 2023, the initiative has grown into a dynamic platform where artistic talent is nurtured through exhibition opportunities, dialogue, and exchange. This year’s edition, titled Between Here and Elsewhere, invited both artists and audiences into a space where identity, memory, and meaning remain fluid. Never fixed to a single place or perspective.

The group exhibition at Het Bos brought together four distinct artistic voices: Kawtar Ouh, Nella Ngingo, Tatjana Huong Henderieckx, and Mistral Guidotti. Each approached the theme of in-betweenness in their own way, yet shared a sensitivity to what shifts, lingers, and transforms. Together, their works created a layered dialogue on belonging, movement, and the idea of “elsewhere” carried within.

Beyond the exhibition, the project extended into moments of exchange and connection. The opening night welcomed visitors into an immersive environment of art, music, food, and conversation. At FOMU, the ChitChat & Print Sale offered a more intimate setting, where audiences could engage directly with the artists, hear the stories behind their practices, and take home a piece of the exhibition.

With Beyond The Frame, ILA Foundation, FOMU, and Het Bos continue to build a supportive ecosystem for emerging artists: one that values experimentation, collaboration, and visibility. As the project evolves, it remains rooted in a shared commitment: creating space for new perspectives to be seen, heard, and experienced.
